45 Minutes to Burn

You have two pieces of rope and a lighter. Each rope takes one hour to burn from end to end. Each rope burns non-linearly (e.g. A rope may burn halfway in 10 minutes and the rest in 50. You don't know.). With just these items time out 45 minutes.
